U8 & U10 Tournaments

There are regular tournaments on a Sunday morning for both the U8 & U10 age groups, these average out at about one a month and are hosted by various clubs around the county. Provisional fixture dates are on the website under each age group.
Tournament details are usually given to us a week in advance so our aim is to text you on the Sunday before to obtain availability. All we ask of you in return is a prompt response by the Monday evening so that we can let the host club know how many teams we will be entering. If we haven’t heard from you by the Monday evening we will assume that your child is not available.
Kettering in turn will also be hosting tournaments so we may well be asking for some help nearer the time.
Please note that these tournaments are of a friendly nature, this means that we are flexible about umpires coaching at the same time (as they are very often the same person), you may also find that the oppositions umpire/coach offering advice during a game. There will be a serious regional qualifying tournament for the U10s towards the end of the season where this will not be allowed.

U12 & U14 League

This season sees the formation of an U12 & U14 league introducing a more competitive nature to the game than that played at the younger age groups. These will be held on Sunday mornings, league dates are approximately one a month. Fixtures are attached, please put them in your diaries, we will need to know availability for these dates 2 weeks before.

All children are required to have their own shin pads & a mouth guard – sticks are not a necessity as we have plenty for the children to use. I do have a supply of mouth guards for sale @ £3 each.

The club provide the shirts for tournaments/matches, children will be required to wear Navy Shorts or a Maroon skort with navy socks.

The club does have an online shop for hoodys, socks, skorts & shorts, the link is as follows:

Silver FX - Club kit supplier

Training Attire
We ask all children to come in trainers and sports clothing appropriate to the weather.

Inclement Weather Conditions
Please note that the only reason we will cancel training or a tournament is due to a frozen, flooded or snow covered pitch. Please assume that we are going ahead unless common sense tells you otherwise. Due to us all being at work during the day we are unable to assess the pitch until we get there, which is just before you do. On tournament days we will let you know by email & social media as soon as we hear anything if there is any chance of a cancellation.

We are aiming to organise a social event for all U14s in December along with our annual end of season presentation evening in April, these have been a great success in past seasons and is a great way for the children to mix away from the pitch.
Social Media
KHC is on both Facebook & Twitter so please find & follow us for all up to date news.
Here’s to another successful season for KHC junior academy.
