Kettering unsuccessful with European Small Club of the Year application

Being Kettering Borough, Northamptonshire and England Hockey Club of the Year is where the Award trail has stopped as Kettering were unsuccessful with their application for European Small Club of the Year. The winners were Mladost from Croatia with Royal Victory from Antwerp securing large Club of the Year.

The Press release from EHF reads:-

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE 2018 EHF CLUB OF THE YEAR WINNERS AS MLADOST HC AND ROYAL VICTORY HC.
I thank you all for your amazing EHF 2018 Club of the Year applications, the standard this year was incredibly high and it is so great to see the strength of European clubs runs throughout so many great nations. Your applications continued to prove club hockey is in such a strong and positive position in Europe. If you have any questions about the range of development & education projects and programmes the EHF run please feel free to contact me directly and also view the information acrosseurohockey.org.

The EHF President Marijke Fleuren said of the winners:

“The applications by all clubs were amazing, I am so proud to see so much development across the hockey clubs we havein Europe. The innovative projects that clubs run on and off the field of play are an inspiration to me. There is a true sense of a strong club community across our hockey family in Europe.

We have had a great run in these awards. Perhaps put it down to Brexit!! There is still a lot going on between now and the end of the season - race nite, beetle drive, Club Awards Dinner, lots of hockey still to be played, the now legendary Beer Barrel/Prosecco and Cheese Night to celebrate the end of the season and Bill's over 75 competition.
