Kettering HC Cricket Club results

By Barry Coe

KHCCC played the might of Great Bowden and Harborough Rugby Club in a couple of 10/10 games over the weekend.

In slightly damp conditions KHCCC opened their cricketing season with a narrow loss to Bowden CC by 5 runs. Bowden posted 103 but Kettering ran out of overs and finished on 98/6.
Next game was against Harborough Rugby Club who set an imposing 113 in their 10 overs. Always up with the run rate KHCC needed 13 from the last three balls. A wide gifted us 2 runs. Ant then hit a couple of 4s. With the scoring being a bit approximate by this time we thought we needed a four, Ant smashed it boundarywards, ran three, ball hits our batsman and we scamper another. Cue debate of should the fourth run count but we actually only needed three so we won by 5 wickets.

Good fun had by all.
