Planning already taking place so keep up to date with what's going on.

Boris had barely swept his hair from his eyes and KHC Ctte had already started making plans for the return of hockey in one way shape or form.

So what do we know?

Organised formal sport can restart on 29th March. That is very late for our current season. As of today ( 23rd Feb ) the state of play is

East Leagues - currently suspended and we are awaiting guidance. Midlands and North have cancelled leagues this season.
Midland Ladies - have sent out a circular about whether clubs want to continue into the summer or cancel. We said we weren't fussed either way but would honour fixtures if there was an appetite to continue.
County Ladies League - currently suspended - awaiting guidance

What might happened?

Ladies summer 7 a side - looks likely to start but we are awaiting confirmation.
Mercian Summer League - for Mens Exiles team - awaiting guidance
Northants Mixed summer league - for Skymoons - awaiting guidance

Hopefully we can organise some internal competitions on Saturdays ( 11 a side or 7 a side?) or maybe organise some friendly fixture and we need to run some Junior activities on Sundays and midweek. The junior section is our lifeblood and they have all missed a year. For any of this to happen we will need to know if there is enough interest. We tried to make hockey as Covid secure as possible pre lockdown and no outbreaks were tracked back to hockey but we understand people might be a bit anxious. If anyone from the club gets in touch about interest for any activity please get back to them with your plans sharpish as it makes organisation on our part a bit easier.

For juniors to happen we will need to ensure that we have enough coaches so we need coaches on standby, again, let us know early what your intentions are. Senior coaches, it would be handy to know if you could help out with juniors if required.

It's a gradual welcome back. I'm sure everyone wants to get back out and have a run around and meet up face to face with their team mates. It's been a long new year of walks from home, cycling and zoom fitness so it will be good to get out especially as the weather will be a bit warmer for sitting around watching games at Bishop.

As usual, if you have any suggestions let us know. We are always open to any ideas however left field you think they are.
