Kettering O50s 1-1 England O65s

Kettering warmed up for their EH Cup semi final against Marsden Russets with a hard fought draw against England Over 65s on the Bishop Stopford show pitch.
England started strongly and for the first half gave Kettering a bit of a lesson in ball retention. Pressing strongly the inevitable goal came when an overload on the left saw a ball across the D neatly turned into the goal. Kettering regrouped and gradually worked their way back into the game. In a game played in four quarters and with England using their full 16 man squad Kettering made some inroads into the visitors defence during the second stanza.
Midway through the third quarter Kettering drew level when Sean Sanderson, guesting from St Neots, fired home over the stranded keeper. England had a few chances to steal the game but Kettering saw the fourth quarter out to gain a creditable draw.

The big semi final is 11th March at Marsden Russets ground near Tonbridge Wells in Kent.
