A Game of Two Halves!

Kettering started their second league game with a new formation and organisational structure. It took a while for thus to settle as players adjusted to their new roles and responsibilities. During this time Wooton took advantage and with confusion in the D scored their opener. Kettering fought back but got caught on the break resulting in a 2-0 scoreline at half time. Kettering looked like a different team in the second half with players more comfortable in their positions and took the game to Wooton. Man of the match Helen Keyworth made some fine attacking runs down the right hand side and Wooton felt the pressure. Michelle Tanser combined with Keyworth for a cross that was finished neatly by captain Shez Coe. It was then a matter on when Kettering were going to score again and with 5 minutes to go Kirsty Smith reversed sticked a shot under the Wooton keeper to tie the game. Kettering continued to dominate but were beaten to the win by the clock. A second half performance to be proud of. Kettering have a break from league action next week, returning the week after to host Towcester 3rd team at Kettering.
