Kettering 2nd travelled to unbeaten Wellingborough 1st team. Wellingborough showed why they are top of the league as they attacked strongly and relentlessly throughout the first half. Only superb defending by man of the match Louise Storey with daughter Emma at right back, Sophie Smart, Michelle Tanser and keeper Amy March kept the score to only 1-0 at half time. Kettering caused the Wellingborough defence more problems at the start of the second half, but a controversially awarded short corner to Wellingborough which was converted upset the Kettering team and Wellingborough capitalised on this scoring two more goals in quick succession. Kettering re-found their composure and went on to finish the game strongly with Michelle Lee netting after Kettering had wasted a couple of other chances. Kettering looked like scoring again but their touch in front of goal let them down. Kettering face another tough game on Saturday when they take on Daventry, at Kettering Leisure Village at 1.30pm, who sit in second place behind Wellingborough.
