Kettering 2nds faced a resilient Olney team in wet and windy conditions. Olney defended well throughout the first half and kept Kettering at bay. Their defence stood firm despite attack after attack from Kettering resulting in a 0-0 scoreline at half time. After the break Kettering continued to press but were caught out by a breakaway with Olney taking a surprise 1-0 lead. This shocked Kettering in action and they continued to press and sharpened up their game and eventually equalised with Shez Coe latching on to a rebound off the Olney goal keepers pads. Kettering raised their game again and scored four more goals in 15 minutes with two a piece for Kirsty Smith and Helen Keyworth. Kettering eventually running out 5-1 winners. Sue Russell worked tirelessly in midfield to win a well deserved man of the match performance. Kettering face Towcester 2nds on Saturday.
