Kettering 2nds had to once again come from 2 goals behind when playing Wootton Wanders 1st team. Kettering started strongly with plenty of attacking play and numerous short corners but Kettering just couldn't get the finishing touch in front of goal. Then against the run of play they allowed a Woptton player to run through the centre of the pitch into the D and slot the ball home. After half time Kettering continued to press but were caught out at the back and Wootton doubled their lead. Kettering never gave up hope and then with only 13 minutes left on the clock Helen Keyworth won a penalty stroke. Shez Coe converted the penalty stroke to put Kettering back in the game. This was all that was needed to return Kettering to their free flowing scoring mode. Keyworth then fired home herself to equal the scores before Michelle Lee, who had worked tirelessly up front in the absence of top scorer Kirsty Smith who was side-lined due to illness, scored two in quick succession. Kettering finished with a well-deserved 4-2 win. Kettering now take a well-earned break from league action until mid-January.
