Kettering 2nds 6 - 2 Towcester 3rds

Kettering 2nds restarted their league campaign with a win over Towcester 3rds. After confusion over the start time which result in a 1 ½ hour wait for the Kettering team it took only 5 minutes for Isabel Ringrose to score her fourth goal in two games for the 2nds. She quickly followed this up with a second before Helen Keyworth added a third. Top goal scorer Kirsty Smith then made it four just before half time. The second half saw Towcester come back strongly and Kettering’s defence had to stand firm. Fine defending from Emma Storey help keep them at bay but Towcester eventually got the break through on the opposite side of the pitch and got themselves a life line. Kettering came back and Sue Russell fired home to get her third goal of the season and Smith got her second. Towcester were not done and Kettering were caught out again allowing Towcester to get their second, making the final score 6 – 2. Kettering host Wellingborough 1st on Saturday at KLV Astro.
