Kettering 2nds started strongly against high flyers Wellingborough 1st. Sue Russell slotted home from close range to give Kettering the lead. Wellingborough came back immediately and with quick passing took the lead before half time scoring once from open play and then a deflected short corner. The second half saw Kettering withstand initial pressure from Wellingborough with GK Amy March once again making some fine saves. However Wellingborough eventually got their third and then went on to fire home two more in quick succession. Kettering struggled to keep up with their quick interplay and despite getting a goal back from a short corner break down when Shez Coe's mishit shot arrived at top goal scorers Kirsty Smith's feet who did what she does best and found the back of the net. Wellingborough were not to be outdone and replied with two more goals of their own. Final score Kettering 2nds 2, Wellingborough 1sts 7. Kettering travel to top of the table Daventry on Saturday hoping for a much improved performance as a team.
