Kettering 2nds had to wait until the second half to secure victory over Towcester 2nds. A hard fought and even contest in the first half saw both defences on top resulting in a 0-0 score line at the break. Kettering came out attacking at the start of the second half and a finely taken goal by Kirsty Smith who while being brought down by the Towcester GK still managed to slot the ball home to break the deadlock. This gave Kettering the confidence they needed to flood forward and continue putting the pressure on. Louise Martin added a second after a solo run and a shot across the GK before Jill Livingstone capped her man of the match performance with a short corner strike. Towcester got a consolation for their hard work with a few minutes left on the clock. Final score Kettering 2nds 3 - Towcester 2nds 1.
