Kettering Ladies 2nds hosted an experienced and skilful Wildcatz team. Wildcatz dominated the first period of play and were unlucky to have a goal ruled out due to the umpire blowing early to award a short corner. Wildcatz deservedly scored from the resulting corner to take the lead after only 3 minutes. They continued to pile on the pressure and converted another corner after 10 minutes. Kettering kept going and on 19 minutes Louise Martin made a surging run down the right before firing home across the goal keeper. This brought Kettering to life and 10 minutes later Shez Coe drove into the D and put the ball under the outcoming keeper towards the empty goal. Martin ensured in crossed the line to equal the scores at half time. The second half started as an even affair until an unfortunate error by the Kettering defence allowed Wildcatz to take the lead. Wildcatz just got stronger and stronger forcing Kettering into errors, scoring three more goals in 5 minutes. Final score 6-2. Kettering travel to face Northampton Saints 2nds next Saturday and need to ensure they regroup and up their game.
