Kettering 2nds 2 - 0 Northampton Saints 3rds

Kettering 2nds returned to winning ways with a solid performance against Northampton Saints 3rds. Kettering started well and created some good chances with Ellie Darnell and Emma Storey combining well down the right. However Saints managed to carve out a few chances of their own and keeper Amy March was called into action. However it was from a Darnell shot that a penalty was awarded when the ball was prevented from going into the goal by a Saints players foot. Captain Shez Coe converted the stroke to give Kettering the lead. Kettering then took control of the game and were rewarded when the ball broke to Isabel Ringrose in the D who slotted the ball home to double Kettering lead. In the second half Kettering continued to press but despite a number of chances were unable to build on this lead. This gave Saints confidence and Kettering found themselves defending Saints attacks and unable to get their own passing game going. Kettering were pleased to hear the final whistle and were happy with the win. Kettering are at home again next week 10.30am start v Towcester 2nds.
