Wildcatz 0 - 5 Kettering 2nds

Kettering 2nds produced a fine team performance in their final warm up game before the league starts next week. Wildcatz stared strongly and the Kettering defence had to stand firm with Louise Storey in charge. Kettering forwards were clinical in their finishing when the chances that came their way. Kirsty Smith outwitting the Wildcatz defence to deflect the ball over keeper Michele Collins, from a Helen Keyworth cross. Shez Coe then doubled the lead by lifting the ball over Collins. Youngster Ellie Darnell then latched on to a shot / cross from Smith to make in 3-0. Sue Russell made it four after a fine one two with Keyworth down the right hand side. Russell now jets off for some warm weather training before she returns to league action in two weeks time. The second half saw Kettering's defence really tested but Amy March in goal ensured a clean sheet was kept. Right back Emma Storey supported Keyworth down the right as Kettering continued to attack on the break. Smith finally got her second after good interplay between Keyworth and Emma Storey which resulted in a shot by Coe being saved and the eventual rebound being put away by Smith. Kettering host Wootton Wanders in their first league game on Saturday 1.30pm at Kettering.
