Seven goals, five different scorers and three more points
Kettering Ladies 2nds took their fine current form into their match against Wootton Wanderers 2nd Team. Within 2 minutes of the start Felicity Goodliffe had put Kettering in the lead with a tap in and quickly followed this with a second, this time a strike from the edge of the D. Helen Keyworth made it three putting in Shez Coe shot that was going just wide before Kirsty Smith found herself one on one with the Wootton keeper and kept a cool head to take it round her and finish into an empty net. Kettering made it five by half time when Michelle Tanser converted a short corner. The second half saw Wootton regroup but Kettering continued to press with Ellie Darnell and Harriet Drake-Lee making some excellent runs down the right and left sides. Eventually Kettering got rewarded for their pressure and possession when Harriet Goswell scored from close range and then quickly followed this with a second. Kettering face Wootton’s 1st Team next week away in Northampton at 2.30pm which will should be a much closer affair.
