Earls Barton 1 - 3 Kettering Ladies 2nds

Kettering Ladies 2nds travelled to Wellingborough to face Earls Barton. Kettering started strongly and pinned Earls Barton back in their own half for much of the first half but just couldn't get a break through. Kettering pressed well down both wings with Harriet Drake-Lee and Imogen Smith providing energy in midfield. Kettering were awarded a penalty stroke but captain Shez Coe put the ball wide. Kettering eventually took the lead when Michelle Tanser fired home. The second half was a much more even affair with Kettering pushing for a second goal and Earls Barton attacking on the break. Kettering doubled their lead after fine work by player of the match Felicity Goodliffe lead to Kirsty Smith scoring. Earls Barton hit back and scored a goal of their own, lifting the ball over Amy March in the Kettering goal. Kettering put the game beyond reach when Tanser scored her second and Kettering held firm until the end of the game. Kettering remain top of the league but have Oundle and Daventry, sitting in 3rd and 2nd respectively in the next two weeks.
