Kettering Ladies 2nd Team remained top of the league after a pleasing win against Oundle 1st Team. Kettering started strongly applying pressure on the Oundle defence, but got caught on the break resulting in Oundle taking the lead. Kettering hit back quickly with Kirsty Smith getting the first of her four goals of the game after a Shez Coe pull back. Kettering then took the lead and extended it when Smith Scored twice more before half time. Firstly rounding the keeper and then slotting home after fine work by Felicity Goodliffe. Oundle hit back in the second half despite Kettering having the majority of the pressure with youngsters Harriet Drake-Lee, Imogen Smith and Sophie Richardson dominating midfield. Amy Marsh step in to make a number of crucial saves late on before Smith made the game safe after converting Coe’s cross. Oundle scored a penalty stroke just before the final whistle to make the score 4-3. Kettering travel to Daventry on Saturday for a top of the table clash. A fixture that Kettering have traditionally struggled in.
