Kettering Ladies 2nds hosted Wootton Wanders 1st Team on Saturday with both teams playing some excellent hockey. It was an end to end affair with Kettering making the most of their chances whilst defending superbly. Kettering took the lead when Shez Coe converted a penalty stroke and then Coe doubled the lead with a quickly taken free hit and shot. Wootton replied with a well struck short corner. Michelle Tanser finished off an excellent move down the right hand side with man of the match Helen Keyworth crossing for Tanser to make the lead 3-1 at half time. The second half saw Kettering take hold of the game when Ellie Darnell slotted home from close range. Wootton cameback again and scored to make it 4-2. Amy March made a crucial save to keep Wootton’s fight back in check before Harriet Drake-Lee flicked the ball over the Wootton keeper to ensure Kettering were safely home.
