Towcester 2nds 4 - 6 Kettering Ladies 2nds

Kettering Ladies 2nds travelled to Towcester 2nds for a game of two halves. Kettering started well creating good opportunities down both the right and left sides and from one of these attacks Helen Keyworth crossed for Felicity Goodliffe to deflect the ball expertly into the goal. Towcester however looked dangerous on the break and equalised very soon afterwards. This inspired Kettering on and they took the lead again when top scorer Kirsty Smith, returning after missing two matches from a skiing break, found the back of the net. Shez Coe then made in three from the penalty spot after a foot on the line. Goodliffe then got her second before Michelle Tanser cross shot found its way into the back of the net to give Kettering a 5-1 lead at half time. The second half was Towcesters with Kettering unable to get their passing game going and giving possession away too easily. Towcester found themselves back in game after three goals without reply. Kettering were determined not to let the victory slip from their fingertips and Smith settled the nerves when she scored her second to give Kettering a 6-4 victory.
