Kettering Ladies 2nd team started the season with a warm up friendly game v Kettering Men’s 3rd/4th team. The ladies got to a fantastic start when a Felicity Goodliffe slotted home in the first minute after fine work from new player Jodie Barber. The men responded and equalised three minutes later. The ladies pressured again and Becky Richardson was on hand to put the ball over the line for the ladies to take the lead again. The men continued to pressure the ladies defence and were rewarded with an a goal to tie the score at 2-2 at half time. The second half saw the ladies take control initially with Michelle Tanser firing home from a short corner and then Harriet Drake-Lee flicking the ball in to give the ladies a two goal advantage. The men were not to be beaten and scored two short corners to tie the score 4-4. It was a great start to the season and a good first run out. The ladies travel to Northampton next week to take on Saints 2nds team in their second friendly of the season.
