Kettering Ladies 2nds 2 - 6 Market Harborough 1st

Kettering Ladies 2nds played their final pre-season friendly against fellow Midlands league side Market Harborough 1st. Market Harborough showed Kettering what to expect in the coming games with fast play and tireless work. Kettering went behind midway through the first half when Market Harborough finished cleanly from a short corner. Kettering had chances themselves to take the lead and equalise but were not able to take them. A minute before half time Kettering found themselves two goals down after an error at the back led to a superb strike beating man of the match keeper Amy March. The second half saw Market Harborough step up a gear and increase their lead to three. Ketteting, however always have a goal in them and Kettering Smith returning to the forward line after a four month lay off through illness was on hand to show why she was last seasons top scorer. Market Harborough replied with two goals of their own before Kettering once again found the net with a fine strike from Michelle a Tanser from a short corner. Market Harborough had the final say with another goal taking their tally to six. Kettering face Derby 1st in the league on Saturday, at 1.00pm at Bishop Stopford School.
