Kettering Ladies 2nds returned to playing after the Christmas period with a pleasing win against Towcester Ladies 2nd team in a friendly before the league restarts. Kettering had five new players in their squad and it was one of these, Lucie Freeman, who started the scoring by slotting the ball home early in the first half. Ola Bednarczyk doubled the score, before Kirsty Smith got a brace. Towcester did pull one back during the half to make the scoe 4-1. The second half saw Towcester put Kettering under pressure for long periods of time and fine defending by Evie Wharf, Charlotte Cattell and Sue Russell kept them to just one goal. At 4-2 it looked like Towcester were getting back in the game but Helen Keyworth stretched the lead again before Gracie Gault got on the end of a Keyworth shot to make it six. Final score 6-2.
