Market Harborough 1st 1 - 1 Kettering Ladies 2nds

Kettering Ladies 2nds played their final friendly before the league matches resume against fellow league team Market Harborough. Market Harborough started the game strongly with a new look team of young quick players who passed the ball around and were willing to run at the Kettering’s backs. Ketteting defended well, with keeper Amy March making a number of fine saves, and created a few chances of their own with some fine runs down the left by Ola Bendarczyk. Helen Keyworth combined well with Many-Starsmore-Young in midfield but it was Market Harborough who took the lead. Kettering felt disappointed as the goal was awarded as they felt Louise Storey had been fouled just moments before the strike that resulted in the goal. However Kettering regrouped and in the second half with Kirsty Smith creating a number of chances. They were eventually rewarded with a goal of their own when Keyworth drove into the circle and shot across the keeper to make the score 1-1. Chances came and went at each end and the match eventually finished in a fair 1-1 draw. Ketteting return to league action next week when they travel to Derby and hoping for a better result than their home fixture result.
