Kettering Ladies 2nd team hosted fellow strugglers Ashbourne on Saturday, however it was Ashbourne who took the initiative and latched onto poor passing from Kettering to take a three goal lead early in the game. Kettering rallied but still conceded again before the break. The second half saw Ashbourne score and take their tally to five before Kettering eventually put some passes together and Kirsty Smith finding the back of the net. Ashbourne broke and scored again but Kettering came straight back with Smith again the scorer after Lucie Freeman played a defence splitting ball to Mandy Starsmore-Young who found Smith who slotted home. Ashbourne though had the last word with a seventh goal making the final score 7-2. Kettering host local rivals Market Harborough at 2.30pm at Bishop Stopford School.
