Kettering Ladies 2nds played hosts to fellow strugglers Market Harbotpugh 1st. Kettering defended well in the first half enduring any Market Harborough attacks were broken down with Jess Clarke immense in the sweeper role. Sue Russell, Jill Livingstone and Louise Storey provided excellent support and Amy March in goal commanded the circle area. The second half saw Kettering playing like they know can when attacking and they were rewarded when a fine run by Becky Richardson found Kirsty Smith in the circle who made sure the ball found the back of the net. Market Harborough kept pressing and they were awarded a penalty stroke which they scored. Natalie Irons being yellow carded for the offence that caused the penalty. Down to ten players Kettering adapted quickly and ensured that they saw the time out until they returned to full strength. Jodie Barber continued to work tirelessly in midfield and had a couple of chances to give Kettering the lead before Shez Coe was able to beat the Market Harborough defence at the top of the D and find Smith who once again Slotted home for her second and the win for Kettering. Kettering saw out the final eight minutes of the game calmly and claimed their first win in the league.
