Kettering Ladies 2nds travelled to Loughborough University in their final league game before Christmas to face their 3rd team. Kettering started the game well with strong defending and were able to release the ball on occasions to their forwards. They created an earlay short corner which was well defended by Loughborough. As the game progressed Loughborough took a firm hold of the game and were able to pass the ball quickly and effectively around the Kettering defence. Once in possession of the ball Kettering found themselves forced into errors by Loughborough. Only fine goalkeeping from Amy March kept the score down. At half time Loughborough led 5-0. The second half saw Kettering sink further and further back into defence although they were able to keep Loughborough from scoring it meant they could create very little in the form of attack for themselves. Kettering decide to press higher up the pitch and started to get some attacking moves going. Ola Bednarczyk and Gracie Gault, making 2nds team starts for the first time, both game a really good account of themselves and showed what promise the youngsters of Kettering have. Ola chasing the ball down at front and Gracie working hard in midfield. Loughborough were able to find gaps as Kettering pushed further forward and were rewarded with three more goals to make their final tally eight.
