Kettering ladies seconds travelled again into Derbyshire to face league leaders Repton with high hopes of showing an improvement from when the teams met earlier in the season. Kettering showed great resilience in the first half despite conceding a goal fairly early on in the game. The centre midfield pairing of Jodie Bellamy and Nat Irons caused many problems for Reptons fast young attackers, continuously tackling and breaking up play. The defensive line of Jill Livingstone, Sue Russell, Michelle Tanser and Evie Wharf also worked tirelessly breaking down numerous attacks backed up by goalie Amy March who made a string or great saves, keeping the score down to 4-0 at half time. Kettering showed great improvement in the second half retaining more possession of the ball which lead to a series of attacks. Despite the improved performance Kettering were unable to get on the score board, however Repton did, scoring four in the second half making the final score 8-0. Next week Kettering will hope to improve on this weeks performance as we take on Belper at Bishop.
