Match report – 3rd October 2015
Kettering 3s vs Saints 4s
Score: 4 - 2
An excellent start to the match was made by Kettering, winning several short corners in the first few minutes, but Saints’ defence was solid. Soon enough though, their efforts paid off with Jessica Moricca scoring the first goal of the game for Kettering with a powerful shot from the top of the ‘D.’ Another goal was then set up beautifully by Kettering, with some lovely passing and teamwork; it was then finished off by Sam Bedford who demonstrated some great positioning throughout the match.
Kettering’s formation was kept very well, allowing us to always have a pass. Eleanor Izzard, in particular, was making some well-timed runs and showed great determination in making tackles. By half time, Kettering were 3-0 up, after Jessica scored her second goal of the match.
In the second half Saints came back fighting, succeeding two goals, however Kettering’s defence soon found where the gaps were and adapted their play to close down the attacking movements. Emma Storey made some lovely clearances from the D. This allowed Jessica to score the final goal, sealing the win for Kettering.
Chrissy Bosworth had a great match; however she unfortunately sustained a nasty injury in the final 5 minutes with a 1 on 1 with the goalie , so we wish her a speedy recovery.
