Match report 14th November
Wellingborough 2s vs Kettering 3s
2 - 0
Despite the somewhat horrendous weather conditions, this was a evenly balanced game. Wellingborough began with a determined attacking movement allowing them to score a quick goal off their first short corner. However Kettering rallied round making some lovely attacking passes of their own, but unfortunately they were unable to complete the attack with a goal.
In the middle some tight marking was demonstrated along with some thwarting tackles by Martha Ross (man of the match) in particular.
Later in the match, some lovely saves were made by our goal keeper Laura Beswick, however unfortunately another goal was conceded against us.
Towards the end of the match Kettering won several short corners, and came within a few inches if the goal posts but narrowly missed out on a goal.
After a soggy, yet well fought match, I think it was safe to say that by the end we were ready to go home for a nice warm bath!
Well done for persevering girls!
