Kettering played very consistently throughout this match, largely maintaining possession and having multiple shots on goal. We began with a strong push forward taking Oundle slightly by surprise; however they soon got their act together and put us under pressure at times too. We then went through a period of long corner after short corner after long corner, although unfortunately we narrowly missed out of a goal on more than one occasion. But, undeterred by this we continued to fight hard to maintain our possession.
It was after half time when the match really got exciting; Kettering won their first penalty flick of the season. Matha Ross stepped up to the challenge and successfully scored the goal which sealed the match as a win for Kettering. Towards the end of the match Ketterings formation did flag a little, due to a combination of the freezing temperatures and tired legs, meaning Oundle were able to make a few break aways, but we managed to hold them off for the rest of the match. This was a very positive match for Kettering: well done!
