Well the hockey season must be well underway, as it has rained both Saturdays
In the season so far.
Kettering 3rds started off well opening the score within the first few minuets of the game, this woke up the Kettering 2nds team who came back with a strong surge, comprising of three goals within a 15 minuet spell. This was enough to get the defence to sort out positioning and strategy. Alana Freedman Scored the goal of the game by stretching out the Kettering 2nds goalie and running the ball into the back of the net with great skill.
After the half time break Kettering were on form and even had a fit of the giggles when a soft goal was scored due to the ball running through several players feet.
Beth Hardy was on top form at the top of the D, putting the Kettering 2nd team defence under some excellent pressure. One of the great strikes by Hardy was saved by the keeper, but Katie?? Was on hand to swoop in and push home goal number four for the Kettering 3rds.
The final score was 8-4 in favour of the higher league Kettering 2nd team. All in all the 3rds can be very proud of their performance as they pushed some more experienced players to make mistakes, then capitalising on them.
