Kettering claim great point but can't cling on for all 3

The first league game back and all the of girls put in 100% effort and determination in the 3-3 draw against promotion hopefuls, Wooten wanderers.
Both teams started off strong with swift passing and plenty of interceptions which took the play end to end. The away team took the lead through a fantastic netted ball from a short corner, not to be out done last weeks goal scorer and central midfielder Liz Randle pushed on with the game plan of pressure all the time and stripped the defender of the ball, pulling it round the outstretched goalie to slot it in the back of the goal. 1-1.
After more cross field play the away team were rewarded with a goal due to some lackadaisical marking by the otherwise fantastic back line of Emma Storey, Janny Randle, Stacy Hall, Julia Telford, Evie Wharf and Ellie Mulligan. More pressure from the midfielders, Simran Kaur, Becky Richardson, Lydia McCarrick, Lucie Freeman and Randle, on the Wootton defence ended up in forward Immi gathering the ball goal side of the defenders, with just the goalie to beat, Imogen Mitchell popped the ball to the far post to take the score line to 2-2.
The second half of the game was again end to end with many fantastic passes and interceptions by the midfield, striving to get the ball to the longing forward two. The 16 strong team was reduced to 15 when Emma Storey ended up with an early Easter present with a very distinctive egg on her forehead from a lifted ball. The game got a little testy towards the end with some green cards shown by the umpires to the away team for insubordination. And a little green triangle also went to Freeman for not retreating 5 on a free hit. The forwards or Meghan Griggs, Megan Newlyn, Mitchell and Clare Jones were always interchanging to make the most of the time on the pitch, super managerial skills from Kate Randle on the side line aided the rotation of the team, to ensure the players were given rest when required. Which proved pivotal when ladies top goal scorer struck again from a short corner – 4 goals to Liz Randle in two weeks…some more jug avoidance is assumed.
