Towcester too hot to handle

The game started off well with some excellent passing on a freezing afternoon. The winger pairings of Megan and Simran and Anna were interlinking well with the centre midfield of Bibby. This aided the passes to the forward pairings of Jonsey, Immi and Natalia. The back 4 were also outstanding, with a cameo from Sophie G aiding the defensive line of Janny, Stacy and Telf and Ellie. The pressure from the well drilled Towcester midfields and forward team was too much to handle for the sustained pressure they put on the team, and a goal was eeked into the far post away from outstretched keeper Kate M. Two further goals were scored in the second half, all to the home team. Half time score, 3:0 to the home team.

In the second half there was a change in the formation of the back line which saw Stacy move into a more midfield role. This enabled the play to open up and many more balls were punched forward through to the wings and forwards, there were many penetrations into the opposition D and some short corners awarded, but all were fruitless to the score line. End of the game score line was 3:0, so a much better second half by the Kettering team.
Teas were swiftly consumed by the unclean of the team, so when the clean one arrived not much was left…so a Welsh delicacy of Pate on cheese was consumed by one; the Welsh one. No Jug avoidance by Bibby this week.
