Saints 1-1 Kettering

Form the outset the game was end to end, we knew this would be the case due to the positionings of both teams in the league.

Saints were more clinical than Kettering, they fought for every ball, set up after break downs quickly and chased down their mistakes. Captin Kate Metcalfe was vocal from the back as always, making players aware of their positining and ensuring every attacking player entering her D was marked.
On one break from the home side all were scrabbling to get back, first to the player was Julia Telford who gained a green for "shoulder barging", a two min spell meaning 10 players for Kettering.

Saints goal came from a short corner deep in the second half. The set up was excellent by Kettering..apart from Claire Jones jumping over the ball to let it slide in near post.
Not to be deterred the team kept on plugging away from front to back with lovely play, excellent down the left and centre, from back to front with Sophie Guyett, Liz Metcalfe and Shez Coe shipping the balls to wanting forwards of Kirsty Smith and ever moving forwards Megan Newlyn and Keira Cox. Coe was excellent in midfield distributing the ball to the correct spaces, many cracking balls found the fast paced Helen Keyworth on the right.

Backs of Jones, Janny Randle, Guyett and forward sweeper Telford were always hard at work man marking the reletless forwards of the home side.

Not to come away empry handed there was a superb run of play leading the Ketteirng goal, is was well worked down the right hand side with Shez Coe drawing the goalie, a simple pull round for waiting Kirsty Smith to hit the back board.

A well battled game by both teams, a point each, who in the changing rooom after the game praised the spirit and friendliness of the encounter.
