Kettering 4s away match against Towcester 3s didn't get off the the best of starts when we found ourselves without a goalkeeper for the first part of the match. But Abbie Hoffbauer stepped into the breach as a 'kicking back' and did a sterling job, saving a number of decent shots on target. Kettering had the majority of the possession and Debra Richardson and Ola Bednarcyzk both saw good strikes just go wide of the post. So we were disappointed to see almost the first attempt by Towcester after our goalie was installed between the posts dribble over the line so that we went into the half time break 1-0 down.
Kettering kept up their dominance during the second half, and continued to be the team which looked more dangerous in attack, but two unfortunate lapses allowed Towcester to add to their tally. This was another match, like several recently, in which the team put in a great performance which was not reflected in the disappointing scoreline.
