Julia Telford and Linzi Webster ensured the Kettering's defence were protected from the Market Harborough attacks. Eventually Market Harborough exposed Kettering down their left hand side and Michele Collins in goal was left in a no win situation as Market Harborough took the lead. Kettering rallied and were rewarded when Webster got onto the end of a Smiths shot to equal the score. The final third of the match saw Kettering tire and make mistakes as Market Harborough pushed on. A penalty stroke was awarded and converted and a second open play goal quickly followed to give Market Harborough youngster a deserved win. Kettering take on Bedford later thus month in their final friendly game before hosting Norwich Dragons Over 45s in the Cup competition. Kettering hope to do well again this year after reaching the final two years ago and the quarter final last year.
