Kettering allow Tamworth to get back into the game
Kettering Ladies Over 45s travelled to Tamworth for their first cup match of the season. Kettering started slowly, giving Tamworth a short corner early in the game which resulted in a penalty stroke after a foot on the line. This forced Kettering into action and they raised their game scoring three before half time. Helen Keyworth getting a brace and Mandy Starsmore-Young firing home after a run and pass from Shez Coe. The second half saw Kettering continue to dominate allowing Keyworth to complete her hat trick and Dusty Mason to athletically get onto a lose ball to give Kettering five and a clear lead. Kettering then seemed to relax and allow Tamworth back into the game. Defensive errors cost Kettering twice as the score became 5-3 and then with Tamworth on the ascendancy they put a fine move together to make in 5-4 with 5 minutes to play. Kettering managed to regain their composure to see the game out and claim the win.
