Transfers, triangles and goals, what more could you need?

Kettering attended the tournament with 2 U10 teams hosted by Market Harborough on the morning of remembrance Sunday in which all of the attending teams payed respect by holding a minutes silence.
Team 1-
Team one played fantastically in all of their games against Long Buckby, Market harborough and the other Kettering team winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 1. Bea Alcorn played superbly in defence making some crucial block tackles and consistently distributing the ball wide to Chloe Tomlinson and Layla Perkins who both played brilliantly making some fantastic runs both on and off the ball. Charlotte Bennett worked hard and always ran back into defence to help out the team and once Kettering won the ball back she created many attacking opportunities with some lovely passes down the line. Lilly Cockburn made some outstanding tackles in the middle of the pitch to stop the opposition in their tracks. Additionally new players Leyton Etheridge and Barnaby Platts worked brilliantly together carrying the middle of the field well. Leyton consistently organised the defence ensuring every opponent was marked when they had the ball, this allowed him to put the tackle in and pass teh ball n to barnaby who made some lovely runs and passes with all of his teammates leading to many great goals being scored.
Coaches highlight of the day: a successful transfer around the defence leading to a goal!

Game 1: Market Harborough B 2:1 Kettering (Bea Alcorn)
Game 2: Kettering 1 2:0 Kettering 2 (Barnaby Platts x2)
Game 3: Kettering 1 1:1 Long Buckby
Game 4: Kettering 1 0:0 Market Harborough A

Team 2-
Team 2 also played very well throughout the day but they were unfortunate to have 3 team members not turn up, therefore they borrowed players from other teams but this did definitely not let them down! Kettering defended the first game brilliantly with Holly Smith and Phoebe Leverett putting in some fantastic tackles to stop any possible games. This great defence resulted in a 0-0 draw with Long Buckby and was a great start to the tournament. In the 2nd game Kettering 2 played Kettering 1 and Jude Mitchell played brilliantly marking the opposition and channelling them wide, this resulted in Kettering 2 losing 2:0. In the third game the two Kettering teams combined to defend and push forward as a team where Amy Smith chased down the ball brilliantly, this game ended 1:0 to Kettering with Barnaby Platts scoring for Kettering. Finally in the last game Kettering chased and worked well defending brilliantly however they couldn't quite get the win losing 4-1 to Market Harborough, a player from Long Buckby scored playing for Kettering.
Many thanks to Michelle Tanser for taking the team.
