U 14s play brilliantly against strong Rugby team
For the first time this season the Kettering teams are mixed.
Kettering U14 2 – Rugby U14 1.
Kettering started off their U14 hockey tournament on the 1st of October 2017, at Bishop Stopford against Rugby with a hard fought 2-1 victory. The players in the green bibs were; Keira Cox, Jess Prestedge, William Middleton, James Hogg, Sahil Sharma, Meghan Griggs and Samuel Tattersal. Kettering took the lead through James’ tomahawk from close range into the top left corner. Rugby gradually made their way back into the game and scored a well deserved equaliser with an excellent team goal. This spurred Kettering to move up a gear and the winner came from a long rang effort from James again. There was a lot of encouraging signs from Kettering to see out the victory as Rugby sought an equaliser.

The final game of today’s tournament involved 2 Kettering U14 teams battling it out against each other. It was a very even match with both teams having chances before James Hogg scored another great goal to put the greens 1-0 in the lead. Both Kettering teams approached the match competitively and Gracie Gault equalised with a well placed finish to level the match. Both teams had further chances to take the lead but the defences played well and the match finished all square.
