Mens and Ladies 4th teams play a mixed friendly

With no league game for either of the Mens 4s or Ladies 4s, it was decided to have a mixed friendly game and also get some of our promising juniors involved.
And it was a friendly game with both sides playing in the correct spirit.

The “Blue” team started the livelier and made several forays into the “Whites” D before a well worked goal was scored by Ben Mayes after some good approach work by Lee Paris.

This was seen as an affront by the Whites and they stormed in the attack and pinned the Blues in their own half for long periods. But the old timers Vince Davy and Tom Sellers kept them at bay until Gavin Ferries managed to sneak in an equaliser a minute before half time.

The second half began with the White again dominating most of the play with an occasional attack from the Blues. After several goal line clearances, the Blues were caught out by some good work from Freddie Drake-Lee which resulted in Pam Farr being able to tap the ball home.

Undaunted, the Blues came back and five minutes from time were rewarded when Ben Mayes scored his second goal and the equaliser to end the game in an honourable two-all draw.
