Kettering battled well to take a point against mid table Mansfield. The first half was fairly uneventful with neither side creating many chances. Neil Freeman made an excellent goal line clearance from a short corner but otherwise the half was notable only for an injury to Scott Mulligan which meant Richard Lashbrooke dropped into sweeper where he produced a man of the match performance. A nasty hand injury to forward Andy Bull meant Kettering were effectively operating with nine fit players. Early in the second half a short corner was neatly dispatched by Ben Mills to give Kettering the lead but they could not hold out and a top corner short corner restored parity. With fifteen minutes to go Kettering were under severe pressure but looked solid. A double save with virtually the last hit of the game was as near to a winner as the disappointed Mansfield side came.
Next week Kettering visit high flying Leicester Westleigh.
