Taking the positives out of this game is not easy as in reality the score could have been more. Kettering are not in the position of being able to only play with 10 players against one of the better sides in the league. Four down in twenty minutes it looked like a very long afternoon ahead but Kettering found an unusual tactic that momentarily confounded their opponents. They became really nice and the end of the first half looked like an audition for the league Fair Play award. The second half saw normality return as Newark tried to bump up their goal difference. Another four goals were rolled in against a flagging home side. There was however a miss of the season candidate from a young Newark forward that had to be seen to be believed. It was a " my Mum would've scored that" moment. An easy afternoon for Newark who will go on to contest for silverware as Kettering look to salvage some pride from what is a difficult season for all three men's teams.
