This week Kettering do produce fireworks.

Kettering produced their best performance of the season as they beat Cambridge South 2 by a score line that wasn't a reflection of the game. The visitors started strongly, passing the ball confidently and putting Kettering's back line under pressure but from a 16 Grant Carlin launched a huge aerial that left skipper Ant Paton with the simple task of setting up Mark Hawkins to break the deadlock. The rest of the half was fairly even but a Paton strike gave Kettering the two goal cushion going into the break. In the second half Kettering played an excellent counter attacking game. Carlin scored from a short corner early on the half but Cambridge held out until the last ten minutes when Kettering ramped up the pressure. Andy Bull scored to make it four and the game was rounded off by Hawkins bagging his second and Paul Donnelly scoring from a short to complete the half dozen. A great result keeping their 100% record intact at home. Cambridge are the best team to visit fortress KLV this season and will play worse than this and win, they just ran into a clinical Kettering who were not to be denied and they remain clear at the top of 4NW.
