A late start under the bright lights at Peterborough saw Kettering extend their unbeaten run with what turned out to be a relatively comfortable win over Peterborough 6ths. Kettering gave a full debut to prolific second team striker George York who produced a man of the match performance. With influential midfielder Grant Carlin called in to work to make some engine parts Kettering wondered how they would cope without their talisman. Kettering bossed the early stages but were rocked back when Peterborough scored through a penalty that would prove to be their only shot on target. Kettering roared back immediately and Mark Hawkins set up York who coolly slotted home. Totally dominant Kettering extended their lead when Mark Hawkins scored. Hawkins also had a goal disallowed just before the break. Hard as Peterborough tried Kettering kept pressing forward searching for more goals. Hawkins completed his hat trick and skipper Ant Paton completed an excellent game by rifling home a short corner. Kettering retained top spot in 4NW and next week visit basement boys Wisbech in another late start hoping to maintain their push towards promotion.
