Kettering 9-4 Bourne Deeping 3rds

Kettering bounced back from last week's reverse to put Bourne to the sword at fortress KLV. Having draw at Bourne in the earlier game Kettering opened the scoring after four minutes when Grant Carlin bundled home. Kettering scored further goals from Mark Hawkins and a counter attack goal from Matt Hill. Bourne pulled a goal back but from the restart Carlin scored to maintain the three goal lead. The second half saw Kettering explode and four goals in the first fifteen minutes from Carlin (2), Hill and a Lewis Pywell reverse stick shot which sandwiched a Bourne consolation. A few cards were brandished by the umpires who managed the game excellently and clamped down well on foul play. Carlin grabbed his fifth of the game to make it 9-2 and Kettering virtually declared allowing Bourne to grab two late goals.
Next week sees the big league decider at Peterborough.
