League action starts this week with the visit of Leadenham. A first ever fixture between the two clubs. Leadenham, formed in 2004, and have quickly grown in strength to now running three mens teams.
Kettering will welcome back influential skipper Ant Paton from cricketing duties to a squad with new members. Coach Ben Mills is unavailable as he is taking a school trip somewhere. After a successful pre season Kettering will be looking to start their adventure in 3NW with a win after last year's promotion that was secured with five minutes to go in a game in Cambridge. This year they will be hoping not to rely on other results.
A bit about Leadenham - Leadenham is a village and civil parish in North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 410. It lies 11 miles (18 km) north from Grantham, on the A607 between Welbourn and Fulbeck, and at the southern edge of the Lincoln Cliff.
A population of 410 suggests it is a name of convenience and is the centre of a hockey playing area. They play at RAF Cranwell. Quite near Grantham. Remember them?
