Kettering made a terrific start to life in East 3NW after a thoroughly deserved win against Leadenham. With a number of new signings over the summer Kettering have been trying to settle into a consistent pattern of play. Leadenham started the stronger and took the lead when a short corner was deflected in by the unfortunate Richard Lashbrooke. Once they had a foothold in the game Kettering took the game to their visitors. Skipper Antony Paton fired home from a tight angle to square the scores just before the break. The second half saw Kettering lay siege to the Leadenham goal. With Leadenham pinned back in their own half for twenty minutes Kettering took the lead when Mark Hawkins fired home. Lewis Pywell capped a fine second half with a goal and Dom Cusk completed the scoring when he expertly turned in Andy Sellers short corner. Kettering can be very pleased with their first league performance and next week travel to Ely hoping to build on this weeks result.
