Kettering rampant in day’s late kick off.

Despite only travelling with twelve Kettering were just too hot for old rivals CoP5 to handle and in the process scored an exquisite goal that was a cut above the game.
As Storm Brian howled around the sports ground at Peterborough the hurricane force of Kettering’s attack was relentless.
Grant Carlin broke the deadlock with a drag flick short corner and Andy Sellers turned in a neat cross from a break down short to give the visitors a comfortable half time cushion. The only thing wrong was the score as Kettering really should have been out of sight as chances came at regular intervals but profligacy in front of goal kept CoP in the hunt.
The second half saw keeper Barry Coe become a spectator as Kettering laid siege to the hosts goal. Sellers bagged his second immediately after half time, again from a broken down short corner, and then played a pivotal part in the move of the match. Breaking the game down in midfield he threw an aerial over the CoP defence that Grant Carlin let bounce and as the ball went into the D and delicately lobbed the ball over the advancing goalkeeper. A goal from the top drawer. Lewis Pywell hammered home the fifth before Pat Cawley followed suit to make it six. Sellers then completed his own hat trick and Kettering’s seventh as Cawley presented him with a tap in.
A great all round performance and sets Kettering up for next week’s home fixture against St Neots.
