Goals from young Jack Bridges and not so young Simon Chambers couldn't break Northampton 5ths with a fantastic display of goalkeeping from the away side. Northampton went ahead quickly with 2 goals in quick succession, the latter being a fantastic aerial smashed down by the centre forward into the back of the net.
The second half began with the same dismay with another 2 goals 10 minutes in. Then a great ball in found Jack Bridges who tapped it into an open net. Northampton then applied the pressure forcing Kettering to defend frantically but successfully. In the process of this 'frantic defence' Chambers was green carded for arguing with the umpire. In typical Chambers fashion once his allocated time was up he strolled up and popped the ball past the keeper. After the game the reasons for defeat were determined as not taking our chances and poor defence which captain Nick Cusk admitted was his fault so if we lose next week you know who to blame!
